Reducing plastic consumption. More than half of the participants in all groups practice or consider such behavior, for example, not to take packages in stores, use bags or eco-bags made of fabric.
Buy coffee in your thermo cup. Some activists are already practicing this behavior and generally have a positive attitude towards it. At the same time, not all students liked this idea, although they also do not like disposable coffee cups that clutter the city.
Use less personal cars, more use public transport and bicycles. The students stated that they were not ready to give up cars in the future. They also said they do not try to use public transport more often, as it is inconvenient and some consider it unprestigious. Instead, some activists and married people are already trying to use the car less to travel around the city, choosing bicycles and public transport because of their environmental friendliness.
The possible installation of a device for collecting air quality data was perceived by the participants of the group of family people as a service provided by citizens to the city. Most of them would agree to install such a device, but they did not want to pay for it. Participants did not understand the benefits of such a device and what they can personally do with the information received. “The man agreed to do it all for the city, to process it all and she still has to pay money ?!” Instead, a group of people with experience of activism had half of those who were willing to buy such a device on their own or throw at it with neighbors.
Buy or use used clothes or things. This idea was negatively perceived by the majority in all groups, but some people were positive. This practice is associated with poverty: buying second-hand things is unprestigious and embarrassing. The only exception may be vintage or designer clothes, deliberately created from used things. On the other hand, the participants responded positively to the offer to hand over their belongings for recycling or re-use.
